IBERO SUMMER SCHOOL

The IBERO Summer School is an innovative project that combines academic excellence with a unique cultural and personal experience. During the 3-weeks program, international students share classes with Mexican peers, and gain a broad understanding of their chosen course topic, as well as of the Mexican and Latin American context (culture, history, economy).

The summer school is conducted in English, with the option of extending the participation from 3 to 5 weeks:

Summer School on Designing Serious Games 2023.

The goals of serious games go beyond pure entertainment. They are about learning, education or awareness raising. This two-weeks intensive course explores different game genres and their typical game mechanics and investigates their suitability for different serious use cases.

University of Gothenburg Summer School for Sustainability will run from July 3 to August 4, 2023.

Students will have the opportunity to join an international cohort of like-minded people for five inspirational weeks, to act on sustainability issues and deepen their understanding of global challenges and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. All of this on campus in Gothenburg, the thriving innovation- and cultural hub on the west coast of Sweden that has been appointed the most sustainable city in the world for six years in a row (by the Global Destination Sustainability Index).

Students will be able to choose one of five courses in the areas of education, politics, biology, digitalization, or humanities. All courses are given at bachelor's level and taught in English, are valid for 7,5 credits (ECTS), and combine workshops and seminars.

The courses for 2023 are:

• Teaching Sustainable Development from a Global Perspective

For the fourth time, the Summer Class at Artevelde aims to introduce students into the world of 3D modeling and 3D printing.

Any motivated and talented student in the academic two years prior to graduation is welcome to this class. There are no special basic competences needed for this program.

If you are interested in how you can create 3D objects and how you can print them, you have the right profile to follow this Summer Class!

When?

June 20 - July 1 2022

What to expect?

• Gain insight into the different 3D printing techniques and materials, as well in 3D modeling software.

• Learn to create 3D models using different techniques and print them. Video tutorials and other educational material is available.

• Experience which problems can raise with printing of 3D models and how to solve them.

• Learn to scan 3D objects with a hand scanner and edit these models to be able to print them.

• Learn to use 3D printers and how to maintain them. About 20 printers are available.

• Visit the international RapidPro 2022 fair in Eindhoven where lots of 3D printers, development of 3D printing services and 3D hardware and software will be shown.

• The training itself will be mainly organized by the staff of the Artevelde University of Applied Sciences and external experts will provide additional workshops or lectures.

• Participate in an international environment with foreign students and lecturers with different skills and expertise.

Costs

The workshop costs 150 EUR and you will also have to pay flights, accommodation and some meals.

You will be able to have some of your expenses reimbursed by Artevelde (up to 700 EUR) if you are nominated through KEA.
