GOODBYE |
It is quite easy to find flights into Copenhagen airport from most countries. Copenhagen Airport is located close to the city and in only 20 minutes on the metro you are in the city center.
You can also choose to take the train or the bus (cheapest). The train will go to the Central Station Copenhagen and from there you will find many transport options. If students want to take the bus, you should be aware that not all bus lines will drop you off in the center of town and there might be about 20-30 minutes extra travel to get to Copenhagen from the drop-off point.
Copenhagen is generally an expensive place to find short term accommodation. We advise students to stay in one of the many hostels around the city. They are often of a high standard and offer many different options with regards to room division (10 beds, 4 beds, single room, private bath, shared bath, etc). Here are some of those we have used in the past.
Make sure you book as early as possible as rooms sell out quickly in the summer period.
A&O Hostel (very close to KEA)
Students can also choose to stay in Airbnb apartments for the week. There are many for rent around the city and the price (if you share) is reasonable. Be aware that not all renters want to rent out to students.
Most residents of Copenhagen use their bike for daily transport and students who are experienced on bikes will be able to rent one for the week – either at their accommodation or at one of the many bike rental places in Copenhagen. Prices are about 350-550 per week.
For students who need public transportation: get the 7 day Flex Card. It costs 260 DKK for central Copenhagen (zones 1+2) for 7 days and can be bought at the Central Station Ticket office.
The only thing is doesn’t cover is the travel to and from the airport. This requires a 3 zone ticket, which can be bought in the ticket machines in the airport.
The Summer Camp will be held at KEA Campus Lygten on the address:
Lygten 37,
2400 Copenhagen NV
There is easy access to the campus with buses 4A, 5C, and 350S (plus a few others) and the S Train line F. If you are lucky, then the new Metro line will have opened up, thus making it very easy to get to KEA.
It takes about 15 minutes on bike from the center of town.
Students will be given their own access card, print and wifi card and will be able to enter relevant KEA buildings and use the wifi.
Lunch will be provided on the first day, but otherwise students need to find their own meal for lunch. Within walking distance from the campus it is possible to get to some excellent kebab shops, a bakery and supermarket where it is possible to find lunch.
Lunch including drink will probably be around 40-50 DKK per day.
